ABOUT TONYA FLOYD-BRADSTOCK, MFA, CMI

Tonya holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts  (Major, Computer Animation and 2-Dimensional Drawing, Minor, Anatomy and Biological Sciences) from Bowling Green State University and a Masters of Fine Arts (Medical and Biological Illustration) from The University of Michigan.  She is also a Board Certified Medical Illustrator.

 

Employed as a professional medical illustrator for over 12 years, Tonya has been involved in many forms of medical (anatomy, physiology, histology, pathology, nursing procedures, etc.,) and graphical art creation via traditional and digital methods.  She has extensive experience with the creation of many forms of visuals such as  digital illustrations graphics, and diagrams, digital image retouch of nearly every region of the body, medical model prototype creation and even the fine art that fills the office hallways. Tonya has numerous collaborative publications (both print and digital) as a medical illustrator, graphic designer and coauthor in a variety of medical journals, book chapters, and digital publications.


Along with her knowledge in health and science, Tonya’s educational path and career has provided experience in research, interface design and developing medical educational programs and content for a variety of audience levels (professional, graduate, undergraduate, secondary and primary).

As a demonstrative evidence freelancer, she has worked with various law firms throughout Ohio and the US.  She is an active member of the Association of Medical Illustrators, an international organization promoting the power of visual media to advance science and healthcare worldwide.

 

She is currently focusing on creating medical Virtual Immersive Reality content and the creation of clinical case software that utilizes volume renders of radiological data to enhance and accelerate students’ processes of critical thinking and clinical reasoning.
